Visit to the i360!
We had such fun visiting the i360 and Brighton beach today!
We loved going high up into the clouds on the i360 and had an amazing view of Brighton!
We walked along the seafront, threw pebbles in the sea and saw the old pier. We then had fish and chips and ice cream for lunch, yum yum!
Thank you to everyone who made our trip possible! :)
Visit from Neil Messenger 27th June
We had an amazing afternoon when Neil Messenger came to visit us!
We touched lots of different types of fish, a squid and even a crab! Neil showed us how to get the fish ready to eat and even showed us how the squid releases it's ink! We loved to see the crab walk too.
Then we cooked the fish and prepared some of the vegetables we'd grown in our garden! We dug up potatoes and spring onions to make a potato salad and podded broad beans. We loved trying all of the delicious new foods, yum yum!
Thank you Neil for taking the time to tell us all about different type of fish, it was fab!
KS1 Drusillas Trip
We had an AMAZING day at Drusillas today! We saw lots of different animals including some that we had never seen or heard of before! We rode the train around the park and even had a go on some of the thrilling rides! Luckily the weather was kind and we only had a few drops of rain all day!
Thank you to all who made this trip possible, we all had an absolutely brilliant day and will have fond memories of the day we went to Drusillas for years to come.
Welcome Back Everyone!
We hope you had a lovely, restful break :)
We started the new half term with a special assembly from the NSPCC. We met Buddy, who helped us think about who we can talk to if we don't feel safe and happy.
We know that we all have the right to
SPEAK OUT AND STAY SAFE!
Please come and talk to us if you would like more information about the services offered by the NSPCC.
Class Teachers: Miss Clark
Teaching Assistant: Mrs Mulholland
Our topics for the summer term are
“The Secret Garden”
In these topics the children will be learning about similarities and differences in relation to places, objects, materials and living things. They will talk about the features of their own immediate environment and how
environments might vary from one to another. They make observations of animals and plants and explain why some things occur, and talk about changes.

St Joseph's Day
We loved celebrating St Joseph's day! We did lots of exciting activities like decorating biscuits, making cards, decorating crosses and planting daffodils! Mrs Muschamp showed us how to dig a hole, push the bulb inside and pat the soil down around it. We are brilliant gardeners!
World Book Day 2019
BIG BOOKY BREAKFAST
This morning we had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day with a Big Booky Breakfast!
Our families joined us to share stories and eat a delicious breakfast of pastries, biscuits and fruit!
We loved reading our favourite books with our grown ups!
Thank you all who came and helped make our breakfast a success!
WE LOVE READING!
Shrove Tuesday has come early to St Andrew's Class! We have loved making and serving pancakes in our 'Pancake Shop', paying for them using the coins we have learnt about!
We have also made delicious pancakes with Mrs Mulholland. We cracked the eggs and whisked
them into the milk and flour. Then we cooked them in the frying pan! We chose our own toppings
too. We cut the strawberries, banana and chocolate, squeezed the lemon and poured the
syrup! Then we ate them all up! Yum yum! :)
We have been doing AMAZING biking on the balance bikes this week during Bikeability. We have learnt to...
- get on and off our bikes without help
- start off by pushing off with our feet, and stop with control
- look in front and behind us while controlling the bike
- share space with pedestrians and other cyclists

St Andrew's have had an amazing day learning to dance in the style of Bollywood! The super cool Mr Bollywood came to our school today and gave us a demo and lesson on some marvellous moves. We then performed with the WHOLE school to our parents! It was one the best things we've done! Can't wait to do it again!

Welcome back St Andrew Class!
We hope you all had a lovely, restful summer!
Thank you, parents of St Andrews, for helping your child settle in over the past couple of weeks.
As we do each year, we are encouraging the children's independence by self-registering and putting their book bags, coats and water bottles/lunchboxes in when they come in each morning.
If Reception children are feeling brave please encourage them to go straight onto the playground as they come in each morning - some of them are doing so already, well done everyone!
Thank you to parents who have been reading with your child. Please read as much as you can to
encourage children's love of reading. We believe reading is a window that opens up all learning, so the
more you can read, the better for children's progress across all areas!
We are currently giving Reception children one book each week to share with you at home. We change books each Monday and will check comments in the yellow reading diary too. Please leave a short comment each time you read. If you could note down any other books you read that would be fantastic too!
We will be beginning to encourage Year 1 children to change their reading books as regularly as they can, to help their reading progress as much as possible!
Our PE days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Tuesdays we will be doing dance indoors. On Thursdays we will be doing ball skills. Please ensure your child has a full PE kit in school each week: Shorts, T-shirt and plimsolls or trainers.
As the weather gets colder children may need a pair of jogging bottoms too but for the moment we have been lucky with the weather!
We have been trying lots of new yummy foods!..
Look how much fun we've been having!
